A Clear Approach to Early Orthodontics

Invisalign® First for Kids

Orthodontic treatment for children doesn't always mean traditional metal braces. At Smile Worthy Orthodontics, we proudly offer Invisalign® First, a clear aligner system designed specifically for growing children (typically ages 7 to 10). This innovative Phase 1 treatment allows Dr. Lisa to address early orthodontic issues—such as narrow dental arches, crowding, and thumb-sucking habits—using comfortable, removable aligners.

The Benefits for Children and Parents

Why Parents Love Invisalign First

Invisalign First offers several distinct advantages for young patients:

Because the aligners are removable, your child can continue to eat all their favorite foods without the risk of breaking brackets.

Kids can brush and floss normally, significantly reducing the risk of cavities during treatment.

The smooth plastic aligners eliminate the poking wires and rubbing brackets that can cause discomfort for younger children.

No broken wires mean fewer emergency trips to the orthodontist!

Schedule an Age 7 Evaluation

Is Your Child a Candidate?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children receive an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. During this complimentary consultation, Dr. Lisa will assess your child's jaw growth and tooth development to determine if early interceptive treatment with Invisalign First is the right path for their smile.

FAQs: Invisalign for Kids

We can answer all your questions, just call and ask!

Is Invisalign First safe for children who are still losing baby teeth?

Yes! Invisalign First is specifically engineered with special features to accommodate erupting permanent teeth and the loss of baby teeth. The aligners are designed to guide the growth of the jaw while allowing natural tooth development to occur.

You might be surprised! Children are often very compliant patients. Because the aligners are comfortable and don't restrict their diet, kids adapt to them quickly. We also partner with parents to establish a consistent routine for wearing the aligners 20-22 hours a day.

Invisalign First is considered "Phase 1" or interceptive treatment. While it corrects significant early issues and creates space for adult teeth, most children will still require a shorter "Phase 2" treatment (with braces or aligners) in their teenage years to finalize the alignment of all permanent teeth.
